Historically a highlight of the East African safari circuit, at 1,483 square miles Murchison falls national park is the largest of Uganda's reserves, offering an abundance of wildlife against a superbly scenic backdrops.
Bisected by the Nile river, many of the activities are centered around the water. Delta cruises offer peaceful contemplation of papyrus-lined sport fishing trips can be arranged; and the most popular activity is the launch cruise to Murchison falls. here, 300 cubic meters of water per second explodes through a narrow gorge, creating the most powerful stretch of water in the world. the view points can also be accessed by vehicle, from south and north banks.

There is No visit to Uganda that would be considered complete without a visit to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park famous for its scenic beauty and the spectacular falls, from which the park derives its name. Murchison Falls National Park has abundant flora and fauna to delight the visitors. From rolling savannah and tall grasslands to thick bush and acacia forests, the diversity of this park doesn’t cease to amaze visitors and residents alike. The falls can be viewed from the top where the Nile River narrows from 50 meters to crash through a 7-meter gorge, falling 45 meters to the rocks beneath.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Arrival day

Today you will be highly welcomed by your guide from Sail adventures Uganda who will pick you immediately after your arrival Entebbe and dropped off to agreed place of accommodation on your first day for relaxation, diner and overnight

 

Day 1: PICK UP FROM YOUR PLACE OF ACCOMODATION AND TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NP (5-6HRS)

 

Pick up from your hotel at 6.30am after breakfast, followed by a drive to Murchison Falls NP passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands; straight to the park, and then to the accommodation facility of your choice.  You will then relax and have your lunch then take the rest of the day at leisure

In the evening you have the option of going for the game drive or relax and enjoy the hotel facilities

Dinner and overnight at Twiga Safari Lodge (Mid-Luxury) or Nile Safari Lodge (Luxury)

DAY 2:           GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE (EXPLORE MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK)

Wake up early with a snack and set off on a Sunrise game drive (about 6.30am) in the Nyamsika plateau, while on the game drives, cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda Kobs, hartebeest and water buck are commonly seen. You may also spot Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reed buck, Shy Sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pig not forgetting the Big Cats including lions, leopards, and other carnivores such spotted hyenas, jackals and many more.

Chimpanzee and olive baboons head the list of six primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along banks of the Nile while on your boat safari to the bottom of the falls basking under the beaming sun. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, bee -eaters, kingfishers, saddle billed stork, cormorant, hornbill, and the rare shoe bile stork

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and there after you will relax. After lunch, proceed for the boat trip on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En–route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and wide variety of birds like unusual shoe bill stork.

The boat stops just ten Meters from the “Devil’s cauldron”. From here you will disembark and take a hike to the top of the falls where your vehicle will be waiting you for pick up. This is an awesome experience, as you will experience the majestic Murchison falls forming into impressive rainbow. You will have great opportunity to take plenty of pictures. There after we shall return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

 DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS EN-ROUTE ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

You will wake up with relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge as you meet your guide for the drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for tracking of rhinos on foot.  After rhino tracking, you will be transferred to Entebbe to be able to connect with your flight Back Home.
